March on Washington, D.C
August 28, 1963
On this date an estimated 250,000 peaceful protesters walked down Constitution and Independence Avenues to promote civil rights and equal rights for African Americans. All different types of people marched in this event . Rich to poor, white, black, famous movie stars, young and old. This was a march for everyone. March on Washington was where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech in front of the Lincoln Monument to hordes of people, talking about what he wanted for his children and foresaw in the future.
